Meta Tags Generator

The title tag is the title of your page that appears in search engines. It tells users and the search engine what the topic of that page is. A good title tag must present the content of the page and must contain the keyword you are looking to rank. It is recommended that the title tag has an average of 60 characters.

Google recommendations:

  • Describe precisely the content of your page (summarize very well what is on your page);
  • Create unique titles for each page (don't have pages on your site with the same title);
  • Use descriptive but short titles.

Example: If an accessories e-commerce wants to rank for "Sunglasses", it is recommended to create a title like "Sunglasses: find a perfect one for you - Store name".

Description tags are, as the name suggests, the description of the content of that page, indicating to Google (and other search engines) what is the content of your page in more detail. They are likely to be used as Snippets of the page description visible to the user. So make sure your meta description is inviting and arouses curiosity.

Although they are longer, it is advisable to write a maximum of three short sentences, composing a short paragraph. That's because your description should appear uncut in the search engine. Currently, there is no consensus on the number of characters in the description, but on the width of the text. Therefore, it is recommended that this description be between 150 and 300 characters.

Google recommendations:

  • Describe precisely a summary of the content of your page (avoid writing a tag unrelated to the content of your page or something very vague like "This is a page on site X");
  • Create unique descriptions for each page, so Google will be able to better relate an individual's search to your content.

Example: Protection for your eyes, style and comfort: we combine all this in the best sunglasses. Discover one that is right for you: access and check out all the available models!

The URL is the address of your online page and is therefore unique. It is important that it is easy to understand, both for the user and the searcher. Avoid complicated words and numbers. Always use the keyword in the URL.

Google recommendations:

  • Use https: // whenever possible.

Example: https://www.name_name.com/oculos/oculos-escuros.

This part is exclusively dedicated to crawlers. The 'index' option tells the robot that you want the page to appear in the search results, while the 'follow' option means that, from that page, crawlers can index the other pages on your site.

Consequently, the ‘no-follow’ and ‘no-index’ options prevent robots from performing indexing. These commands are commonly used in private areas, such as login screens, on websites.

This tag is used for the crawler to identify and display the name of the author of the content of the indexed page.

Select which language your site is in to improve its ranking.

This section identifies the word or keywords you want to rank for. This facilitates the work of crawlers, but remember that the ranking algorithm considers other factors.

Meta Tags

The Meta Tags are pieces of information inserted in the source code of a page. They are important ways for your website and content to be expressed to search engines, leveraging SEO. All of your pages (all!) Must have these custom tags. Below, we have the most important ones that cannot be missing from your site.

Example of how your page will appear on Google

Facebook & Twitter

Add a short headline to let people know what your ad is about. This will not appear on all placements. The limit for the title is 40 characters. You can add more text and exceed the character limit, but the text may be clipped when people see your ad on certain placements, such as on the mobile News Feed.

Add text to emphasize why people should access your site. This will not appear on all placements.

Enter the URL of the website you want to promote.

If it makes sense to highlight the author of the page content, just fill in this field with the name of the person who produced it.
